Taiwanese Entertainer Da Bing Died

Taiwanese Entertainer Da Bing Died: Taiwan Entertainer Tony Fish (余炳賢), known by his nickname “Da Bing” (大炳), who starred in the Hollywood film “Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo,” has died at the age of 37 after contracting a serious lung infection, his former agent and TV producer Shen Yu-lin confirmed yesterday.

Da Bing’s younger brother confirmed on Tuesday that the 37-year-old star had died of acute pneumonia and multiple organ failure in a Beijing hospital on Friday, reported Taiwan media.

Da Bing, whose real name is Yu Bing Xian, was a well-known Taiwan television personality who hosted numerous television variety shows and had appeared in popular dramas like “My Queen” as well as “Material Queen”.

Da Bing’s memorial service is scheduled to be held on July 30, the home of Christian Performing Artists said in a statement released last night.

He was also well-known for impersonating politicians and female celebrities such as former Premier Frank Hsieh and late Grammy Award-winning singer Whitney Houston.

Yu’s younger brother said Yu had been working hard in China to shake off his past and pursue his dream of carving a niche for himself as a producer, before he became sick.

Yu’s body was cremated in Beijing on Sunday. A funeral service will be held for Yu on July 30.
