I-40 Crash: Tennessee Bus Accident 8 Dead 14 Injured: The I-40 Bus Crash Tennessee today October 2, 2013 it has claimed the lives of eight people, officials say the news. Three vehicles were invoked. Six people died in the bus. A person in the tractor trailer died. And a passenger in a pickup truck happened. There are fourteen additional injuries.

Officials say the news that eleven people were transported by ground and four were transferred.

Bus passengers were seniors of Street Baptist Church in Statesville, North Carolina. Witnesses believe that the bus was supposed to blame. They witnessed the east supposedly cross the center divider on I-40 and the impact of two vehicles in traffic next bus.

Insiders say news that older people in the bus were on a road trip. Their destination was Gatlinburg, TN for a Fall Jubilee. Knoxville Police Department is still trying to determine why the bus crossed the opposite lane.

Officials in a press statement said “We have responded to what appears to have been a three-vehicle collision with a tractor trailer, bus and passenger car .. Bus traveling EB on I-40 for a reason unknown, traveled through the median and hit a tractor-trailer and passenger vehicles. “Meanwhile, traffic to I-40 traffic is diverted onto I-81 north to I-26 to the this.

The injured were taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. In addition to those in critical condition, two were in serious condition and four were stable.

State Department of Safety and Homeland Security spokeswoman Dalya Qualls said in an email 18 people were on the bus and six of them were killed. One person among the three in the SUV was killed and the tractor-trailer driver also died. None of the victims were identified.

A Jefferson Co. joint press conference this afternoon about the accident from I-40 and has been to change the date. It will begin at 6:30 PM officials tell news.
