Caldecott Hill’s A-list actresses Rui En and Joanne Peh go head-to-head in Best Actress nominations for their roles in Channel 8 drama A Tale of 2 Cities. Also in the running for the same award are Ah Jies Zoe Tay, Fann Wong and Ann Kok, who are nominated for their roles in Devotion, On the Fringe and Bountiful Blessings respectively.

In his thank you speech, he said: “After 13 years, this award is finally going home with me tonight! Winning doesn’t mean I’m good. It just means I’m lucky.”

Best Actress: Joanne Peh (A Tale of 2 Cities 《乐在双城》)
The actress pulls off a surprise win of the night. She thanked fellow nominees, actors and MediaCorp and added, “I know everyone has his or her own ideal winner but I hope that you will give me a chance to work harder and improve myself.”

Best Supporting Actor: Chen Shu Cheng (《行医》The Oath)
The veteran actor finally lands his first win after being nominated countless times!

Best Supporting Actress: Vivian Lai (《四个门牌一个梦》 Love Thy Neighbour)
The animated actress/host is shocked by her own win and didn’t prepare a thank you speech. She said: “My first award and I can’t believe it’s an acting award! Thank you!”

Best Newcomer: Kate Pang (A Tale of 2 Cities 《乐在双城》)
